That NEED to be Right...

You ever feel that way, especially in a heated debate?
Don't know about you, but when that happens, my brain is usually telling my mouth to hush - but it just keeps on going. Sound familiar?
My personal goal has been to practice silence - you do have to pick your battles, because there are people that will argue with you about the sky being blue!!!
Also, if you're dealing with a narcissistic person - you will not win.
So, depending on the relationship - do you value being right, or value that relationship? Choices must always be made; and it takes contemplation BEFORE you're in a "battle".

Regarding my word for 2026 - Building - I have been watching YouTube videos, every morning, evening and on my lunch breaks. Covering everything from building wealth in Retirement with Warren Buffet - to growing my life-skills with Mel Robbins, and her variety of guests on her podcasts. I am seeking my life "what next", for when I plan to retire within the next 5 years. While on this quest, everything I take in, I glean a little bit. Learning things the "traditional way" - via formal education, has NEVER been strong suit. I have actually been sharing some of what I've been learning with people I'm around every day - and it's coming out making sense. Normally, that only happens when I write, and correct, etc. Who knows where this will go - I'm going to just keep learning this new information; and blending it with things I have always known, because of what I've been through in my life. It's hard, sometimes, to remember there are a MINIMUM of two sides to every story. When you factor in the truth, the incredibly creative fiction a mind can come up with, plus there is each individual's perspective - any situation can get blown out of proportion so fast, it's not even funny!!! Sometimes, the best thing a person can do is step back, close your mouth, and wait for the smoke to clear. ...so difficult??! I have mentioned that 2025, was a year of struggle; though I had one, of two of the BEST vacations, in my life. I spent over half the year trying to "start up", again; based on internal focus and structure that I had been building for roughly 10 years. FINALLY, after struggling for months - the words, "Start Over" appeared. The good news, is, that I wasn't starting over at ground zero. I was able to lay out a plan - it takes a minute (or seven), or at least 30 days of consistency, to build a good habit. I will let you know when I've arrived. ...your thought processes can give you a WHOLE NEW perspective on life. One example, "Why does everything bad happen to me??!"; maybe change to, "Is there some life-lesson I am supposed to be learning from all of these things that seem to keep happening to me?" Another reframe could be, "Are things happening to me because of choices I keep making, over and over?" Basically, reframing is asking yourself questions in a more productive way. It breaks that negative thought-loop, and makes a path to move forward out of that stuck feeling. The goal is NOT to ignore your feelings; or just wish they would go away. Your feelings are ALWAYS valid - but sometimes it's the shade of light in which you see them. Reframing can change that "tone/color pallet". What do YOU think? A few months ago, I began using "My Daily Life-goal..." on my Facebook page; for a reel or meme that represents my current focus. I've actually been doing it longer than that; but it's been more intentional, instead of just "doom-scrolling" my time away. Last week, I posted this to my page: "I'm NOT perfect. Some days, I'm a real mess!!! But...EVERY day, my goal is to be better than the day before. I'm learning new things every day. Growing. That is why I share my "Daily Life-goals". Not doing it for anyone else, but ME. But, if it inspires someone else, so be it. Share your wisdom... Thank you, for coming to my TED Talk... " 🥹 🥹 🥹 Though I didn't get major results with it - that's how I choose to use Social Media in a positive way; and do "likes" really matter? As I said, "so be it".  I truly believe, if we ALL could do that, every day - follow what we feel we're to do, EVERYTHING would be taken care of in the world!!!
