...with a person who NEVER "gets" you - has you explaining your motives for nearly everything you say, or do - irregardless of your relationship.
Sounds like a sustainable relationship, right??! NOT!!!
Are they willing to do the same for you? If you question their motivations for ANYTHING, do they tend to get salty?
Wondering why you're questioning them?
Are you losing YOUR OWN thoughts and feelings, while pursuing their approval and acceptance?
I understand relationships take time to build and grow - but if you do an assessment, today - are you BOTH putting your best into growing your relationship?
I get it - life happens, and not everyone can do 100% EVERY day; but if you only have 60%, are they able to help with that other 40% THAT day, to at least try? Then, on their low days, are you able to reciprocate?
Relationship balance is rarely 50/50; but are you working as a team? Each of you utilizing your skills, and attempting to grow your relationship on a daily basis? That's the rub.
What ways can you begin to work together on this assessment, and decisions, if necessary?

...for us to move forward, in life, is to release the "small things" that continue to hold us hostage, where we are. One is grudges - while seemingly huge, are actually a small thing. Believe me - I was raised by a "grudge holding master"!!! Some of my family still holds them; and the "master" has been gone since 2012!!! I have made choices in my life to, first, release grudges that weren't mine to hold; then, to move onto my own - and release them. All a part of the process of personal growth. Periodically, something random will pop up, and I have to take a look at it - and place it where it belongs - usually, in the past, to remove the power it's attempting to take from my present. As a child, I WAS SILENCED about SOOOOO many things: - family secrets - my own Sexual Abuse - how I felt about MOST things etc... Now, as an adult, finally having a voice, I am in the process of learning that it's okay to be silent; that there are MANY times I have NO reason to share my unsolicited opinion. One example - I don't have to insert my opinion on anyone else's life choices. I, personally, believe we all stand alone at the end of our life; my opinion about ANYONE else will not mean a thing, in that moment; so why waste my precious time on earth? Though I may disagree, for whatever reason - I may be given an opportunity to share it - if I'm not, my job is to reconcile it within myself. Our job on earth is to love and be supportive of others. Sometimes, choices must be made, however. We are not required to partake in anything we don't support. The old "love them, but not what they do". ...every day, to be grateful for. I used to think that trying to be happy, when I was so miserable, was being fake. After my epiphany that I had faked it, for so many years, before starting my healing journey, my brain just couldn't comprehend it!!! "Fake it til you make it", was SUCH a cliche; but there IS an element of truth in it. However, if you never start attempting to be positive or happy; it will not just magically appear. Healing takes work - and you're not faking happiness - it is a goal you are striving to reach. THAT is the difference. The beginning step is that gratitude - find ONE thing, no matter how small, EVERY day - I promise you, your life will begin to change. Some days, there will be big gratitude - start with a spark... Domestic Violence, Violence Against Women, etc, has been around pretty much since time began. Does that make it right??! Does it mean we don't fight??! Not from where I'm sitting. We are in the world to do what we can, while we're here. Unfortunately, injustice is the "counterbalance" we need to be able to appreciate justice. Just as we have hate, to feel love, even greater. While I'm pretty sure the initial plan was for love, and only positive - the reality of life isn't that way, so we persevere. This world is a crazy place; but knowing we're not fighting, alone, really helps. The Battle still rages on...will you join us, and raise your battle cry??! Do you ever feel like you are the ONLY person stuck in the type of situation you're in? I used to - years ago, when I WAS stuck!!! It took me MANY years to realize, the ONLY person able to get me UNstuck was ME!!! Yet, try as I may - doing it alone was a losing battle!!! What??! Didn't I just say the ONLY person who could get me unstuck was me??! Yes, I did - by asking for help, to help guide me to get unstuck. Billions of people being on the Earth is NOT a mistake. I believe God created man so even HE wouldn't be alone; so who are we to poo-poo HIS thinking? Trust me - I enjoy my time, alone; but sometimes, it's just NOT good for me. I still have to do the work. Some days, it's all I can do to get myself out of bed; but I surround myself with people that care about me, and hold me accountable. When I mess up, I take responsibility for my actions, and move forward. Sometimes, I am NOT the fastest learner - it takes me a couple times to grasp a life-lesson. I get a lil down, go off and whine for a minute and lick my wounds - then I come back with a new resolve. NO ONE is immune to "life-lessons" - some just take a little longer to really learn. You just have to make the best choices you can, every day. Give yourself a lil grace, and room for error - just don't stay there!!!
