The Ones That AREN'T Talking... (Connie J...)
Do you know anyone that shies away from conversations that involve personal questions/comments, like:
- "I always see you alone, in public. I thought you were married."
- "Your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner takes such good care of you."
- "I just LOVE the attention your partner pays to detail...".
...and you can fill-in the comments for days.
Now, when the one being told this can glow, and gush, you just KNOW you're on the mark. However, it's often, the ones that back-peddle away from any "couple talk", whatsoever, that you should pay closer attention. Do they EVER show up to any public/family event alone? Or, if their significant other DOES come, do they look comfortable with them being there? Does the s.o. often want to leave early? Can you cut the tension with a knife?
These may be the ones that aren't talking, and need just ONE person to ask if everything is ok, or do they need to talk, etc. Follow that little voice telling you something may not be ok with them, and invite them for coffee. It could save a life, you never know!!!
With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, pay EXTRA attention to those around you that may NOT be talking.

*October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please share this, no matter what month it is, to help get the word out. The Victim has to make the choice - but, "What If..." they read something you sent them, that makes the difference? #walkinTHEIRshoes
*I will be sharing a "What If..." post on the first Monday, of every month. I would love to share YOUR "what ifs". Please send your "What If..." ideas to Connie J... - firstname.lastname@example.org; or through Ozer, at the website or email, email@example.com.
