Remembering Domestic Violence EVERY Day... (Connie J...)
Remembering Domestic Violence EVERY Day...
We wrapped up Domestic Violence Awareness Month, last week. I try to work it into every conversation I have, or most of them.
Again, while it would be nice to be able to end it, all together, it's not going anywhere, soon. If anything, it keeps growing.
Our goal is to do what we can to combat that growth.
You cannot battle what you are not aware of.
It is NOT easy, for anyone.
So many people are so terrified of their significant others, that fighting back COULD get them killed. This is a stark reality.
My cousin, Angela, was on her way out the door, when her boyfriend shot and killed her.
When I heard about this, though I had already been a part of a task force; it strengthened my resolve to do what I could, which is writing, and talking about it - bringing it into the the light!!!
That's all ANYONE can do - what you can do.
What can YOU do? I challenge you to try and figure that out...
Have a good day, and be safe...
