Living (?) With Your Choices... (Connie J...)
My Mother stayed with her emotionally abusive husband for 64 years (til he died), because SHE took her vows seriously. She is now near the end of her life with Alzheimer's - I, personally, believe this had a bit to do with the stress from her
choice to remain with my Father.
My Father, for most of the last year of his life, had a pretty sharp mind - but the connection with his brain was a lil sketchy, so it was hard for him to express himself effectively. I believe this was not a mistake.
I stayed a part of their dysfunction til I was 30, then started to make changes in my own life. I've been working the last 26 years to become a stronger woman than I was raised to be. My parents and I did work through a lot of stuff, and I have no regrets.
I give you these examples, not to put blame anywhere; but to point out there are consequences to every choice you make. Each one of these people above made their choices, both bad and good, and did the best they could through them.
Just remember, there are as many choices to be made, as there are life situations. The statement, "Just leave...", is just that - a statement. Take time when making the choices you do. You ALWAYS have a choice...no matter how small, even if you have to dig deep to find them...
Have a good day, and be safe... #EtSoV #ENDtheSILENCEofVIOLENCE
